Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan, known for movies like Karwaan and Charlie among others, was conferred with the 10-year Golden Visa by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi). The Golden Visa programme was introduced in 2019 by the UAE Government. The long-term residence visa, valid for 10 years, enables foreign national recipients to live, work and study in Abu Dhabi without the need of a national sponsor and with 100 per cent ownership of their business in the UAE’s mainland.
“It’s a privilege and honour to receive the Golden Visa. It was wonderful to hear the future plans of the Abu Dhabi Government to promote film and production activities and encourage new talent locally and internationally,” said Salmaan. Last month, Dulquer Salmaan’s father, the 70-year-old Mammootty, also received his UAE Golden Visa, which was conferred to him at the same time as Malayalam cinema’s other superstar, Mohanlal. He is the fourth actor from Malayalam industry to receive the 10-year Golden Visa.
