Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board's sustained efforts to position the state as a premier adventure tourism destination have earned national recognition. The state was honoured with the 'Best Adventure Tourism State' award at the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India's (ATOAI) national convention held in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.
The accolade was presented by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu to Dr SK Shrivastava, Joint Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board. This award recognises states excelling in promoting adventure tourism through robust infrastructure, diverse activities, and innovative offerings.
Madhya Pradesh has actively developed its adventure tourism sector with initiatives such as water sports, trekking, wildlife safaris, and paragliding. Iconic destinations like Pachmarhi, Satpura, and Bandhavgarh have become popular adventure hubs, drawing tourists from across the country.
Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture Department and Managing Director Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board Sheo Shekhar Shukla said “Under the guidance of Tourism, Culture and Religious Trusts and Endowments Minister (Independent Charge) Shri Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi, efforts are being made at various levels to establish the state as an adventure tourism hub. This award is not only a recognition of our state's unique natural resources and diverse tourism experiences but also a result of the state government's continuous efforts and innovations in the field of adventure tourism.”
