ACCORHOTELS ANNOUNCED the appointment of Madhu Joshi as the Director of Marketing, India for AccorHotels India. In her new role, Joshi will be responsible for providing marketing leadership for AccorHotels’ growing portfolio of brands operating across a fast expanding network in the country. Madhu will be replacing Siddhartha Umashanker who leaves the group after five years of distinguished contribution.
A seasoned marketing and communications professional, Joshi brings over 16 years of experience across hospitality, FMCG and retail industry verticals with proven expertise in Corporate Communication, Brand Management and Digital Marketing. Joshi became a part of the AccorHotels family in 2009, joining Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre and Hyderabad International Convention Centre as its Marketing & Communications Manager. After a brief stint outside the group, Joshi returned in 2013 as the Director- National Marketing & Communications for Hotel Formule1, a position she held up until today’s appointment. In that role, she was responsible for launching the Hotel Formule1 brand in India and developing key initiatives to promote it PAN India, thereby helping it grow to its present network of nine hotels in India.
Recognised for her outstanding skills and contribution, Joshi has been facilitated with numerous awards, including the coveted ‘Asian Customer Engagement Award 2015’ for ‘Best Engaging Brand Promotion’, ‘Most emerging brand in India’ and the ‘National Award for Excellence in Digital Marketing & Social Media - Best use of Social Media Marketing and Best Website’ for Hotel Formule1.
Joshi holds a Masters Diploma in Business Administration with specialisation in marketing from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management. She is also certified in digital marketing from Internet & Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).
