ixigo launches ‘Price Lock’ feature to secure airfares for travellers

India’s leading online travel agency, ixigo, has introduced a new ‘Price Lock’ feature for domestic flights, offering travellers the ability to lock airfares for up to two days before finalising their bookings. This innovative feature provides flexibility and protection against fluctuating airfares, making travel planning more convenient and stress-free.

The feature is currently available for domestic flight bookings across all ixigo Group apps. It aims to provide peace of mind, particularly during the festive season, when airfares typically surge due to high demand. With Price Lock, travellers can avoid the 20-25 per cent airfare hikes commonly seen during holidays such as Dussehra and Diwali.

Priced from just Rs 99 per passenger, the Price Lock feature ensures travellers are safeguarded from sudden price increases, offering price protection of up to Rs 4,000 per passenger. If fares rise, travellers are shielded by the locked-in rate, while if prices drop, they can pay the lower fare. This guarantees that users either pay the locked price or a reduced one, eliminating the risk of overpaying.
