ITC Hotels has entered into a management agreement with Lunera Castle Resort & Spa to oversee the heritage property ‘Lunera ki Sarai’ in Mandu, Madhya Pradesh, under the Welcomhotel brand. This initiative aims to honour the historical significance of Mandu, known for its architectural beauty.
With this addition, ITC Hotels will manage nearly 540 rooms in Madhya Pradesh, including existing properties and upcoming hotels in Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Bhopal. The Welcomhotel Mandu will offer 94 rooms, dining options, meeting spaces, a spa, and a swimming pool.
Speaking on the occasion, Anil Chadha, Chief Executive, ITC Hotels stated, “We are honoured to have been entrusted with the legacy of Lunera ki Sarai. Historical context dates this ‘sarai’ located along the trade routes in the 16-17th century back to 400 years. It is indeed a very special project. Brand Welcomhotel looks forward to reviving the glory of Lunera ki Sarai by enabling memorable experiences at this heritage resort."
Mandu, an ancient fort city, is recognised for its rich history and architectural wonders, making it a favoured destination for tourists and history enthusiasts. Located just two hours from Indore, the revitalised Lunera ki Sarai is expected to attract more visitors.
