Beginning September 2024, IndiGo Airlines has announced a significant enhancement of its domestic connectivity with the introduction of 10 daily direct flights from Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. This strategic move is set to cater to the increasing demand for air travel among business, leisure and spiritual travellers. The new routes and increased frequencies are expected to significantly enhance domestic mobility from the main cities of Telangana and Gujarat. Additionally, they will facilitate improved connections to international destinations across Asia, making travel more convenient and efficient for passengers.
With these additions, IndiGo now offers 1,220 direct flights weekly from Hyderabad to 69 destinations, and 523 weekly flights from Ahmedabad to 35 destinations.
Commenting on the expansion, Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales, IndiGo, stated, “We are pleased to announce the expansion of our direct flights to and from Telangana and Gujarat. These new routes and frequencies will provide customers with even more options, streamlining accessibility and revitalising the demand for travel, within the region, and beyond. As India's preferred carrier, we will continue to facilitate seamless travel through enhanced domestic connectivity, as we remain committed to our promise of providing on-time, affordable, courteous and hassle-free travel experience, across our wide network."
Over the past year, IndiGo has bolstered Hyderabad’s connectivity to Southeast Asia with direct flights to Bangkok, Male, Ras Al Khaimah, Singapore, and Colombo, further establishing Hyderabad as a strong regional hub in South India. As the Telangana state government focuses on eco, spiritual and medical tourism, IndiGo’s new routes will offer travellers increased access to popular attractions such as Char Minar, Ramoji Film City, Golconda Fort and Hussain Sagar Lake among others.
IndiGo’s strategic expansion aims to provide travellers with more choices, enhancing their travel experience while supporting regional tourism and economic growth.
