Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality brand, has announced the signing of a new Taj hotel in Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka. The greenfield project, Taj Chikkamagaluru, will be set against 25 acres of lush coffee estates, offering the great views of the Mullayanagiri Peak.
Speaking on the occasion, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Real Estate & Development, IHCL stated, “With its lush rainforests, coffee estates, and easy access from key cities, Chikkamagaluru can be positioned as a world-class destination, aligning with IHCL’s strategy of putting India’s lesser known leisure locations on the global tourism map. We are delighted to partner with Arnaytive Resorts for this project.”
The 160-key luxury hotel will be located just a 20-minute drive from the city centre. It will feature multiple dining options, including an all-day restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a bar, and a poolside bar. Guests will also have access to two swimming pools, a fitness centre, the signature J Wellness Circle spa, a kids' club, and a library. The property will cater to MICE travellers with over 5,000 sq ft of banqueting space, meeting rooms, and a pre-function area.
