Crowne Plaza New Delhi Mayur Vihar has revealed Charkha: The Tree of Tomorrow, a remarkable 10 feet tall Christmas tree showing sustainability and empowerment. Created in collaboration with Vikara, a Khadi India initiative, the tree’s fabric was handwoven by artisans in Dehradun, blending traditional techniques with a vision for a greener future.

Crafted in natural hues of Madder red, Marigold yellow, Turmeric gold, Onion Peel brown, and Cutch, the tree stands as a tribute to Gandhi’s Swadeshi movement and the enduring legacy of Khadi. Five artisans dedicated over 100 hours to weave this masterpiece, incorporating upcycled materials and natural dyes. The result is a tree that embodies resilience, hope, and a harmonious connection with nature.

The unveiling was accompanied by festive activities, including a magical Santa Meet & Greet, a Christmas choir performance by children from Seth M R Jaipuria School, Noida Extension, and the presentation of a Gingerbread House crafted by in-house chefs. Together, these events celebrated community spirit and the joy of the holiday season.
