Bangalore Market is Fiercely Competitive

“BANGALORE HOSPITALITY market is fiercely competitive and driven, with a continuous upsurge of hotels in the area,” says Sujeet Kumar, General Manager, Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway who has recently been appointed to this position.

Speaking about the hospitality market in Bangalore, Kumar believes that the tech-savy populace not only drives the segment with reviews and content sharing, but also requires constant innovation and up gradation with the latest offerings & trends. “To create a niche for ourselves in the market, we are providing extraordinary service consistently as well as offer great value for money,” he added.

For Kumar, the location of the hotel serves as its greatest perk. “The hotel is located within the Brigade Gateway, self-sustained lifestyle enclave, with close proximity to the World Trade Centre, Orion Mall and a man-made lake, allowing the business travellers to enjoy a relaxing stay. It offers at par excellence experience through its convenient location with close proximity to Bangalore International Airport and metro connectivity across the city,” Kumar told us.

Kumar revealed the opening of the Sheraton Grand Whitefield property, to further spread their reach and be more accessible across the city. Sharing about his future plans with the property he said, “We are working to expand our dining options in the coming year to cater to a wider clientele base. We have also initiated procedures to enhance our in-room technology to improve our guest experience.”

Graduated from Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration in Manipal and with over two decades of experience in the industry Kumar feels finding the right talent is the biggest challenge for the industry. “This sector is driven by the services provided by the people. A hotel may have the best of product, but without the right people, it may not garner the reputation it aspires to,” Kumar said.
