Bangalore is Very Dynamic and Expanding Rapidly: Shipra Sumbly Kaul

“HOSPITALITY SECTOR is one of the major contributors in GDP and is also a big foreign exchange earner for the country, however there is currently a consistent gap between demand and supply. We need more infrastructural development, good talent and training institutes to cover up the gap,” says Shipra Sumbly Kaul, newly appointed General Manager at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bengaluru Racecourse.

Kaul feels that the industry should be more organised and focus should be given upon improving tourism. “The hospitality market in Bangalore is very dynamic and expanding rapidly. We see a vent of new hotel chains in the market as well as different areas growing into self-dependant business hubs. These developments indicate good growth and changes this year for hospitality sector,” she added.

The property being the first Holiday Inn Express in Bengaluru, the main agenda is for people to know about the USPs of the hotel and popularising the brand concept of smart service in India. “We are located on Seshadri Road overlooking the Turf Club and this is definitely one of our strongest USP. We are very keen on sharing information about Express brand with our patrons at their arrival. We are working hard to promote the brand within Indian companies, PSUs and private segments,” stated Kaul.

Kaul informed that to promote business traveller, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bengaluru Racecourse ensures that a traveller or guest receives information from different sources be it a travel website, their own corporate office (national and international), IHG Rewards Club newsletters and so on.

Having 18 plus years of experience in hospitality, Kaul started her journey from Delhi and worked with many Indian and international brands like ITC, Taj group, Oberoi Hotels, Leela and Starwood hotels with a mix of leisure and business hotels in locations like Gurgaon, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Bengaluru. She has been working with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) from 2012.
