THE JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity announced the appointment of Alok Kaul as the Director of Operations. With an experience of more than two decades in hospitality, Alok is a seasoned professional with a strong luxury background. His extensive experience has helped in generating ROI & creating lifelong relationships.
Kaul started his career with Le Méridien New Delhi in 1996 as a trainee. He then moved on to Hotel Oberoi Towers, Mumbai currently The Trident as Front Office Assistant where he mastered the techniques of front office and adapted the Oberoi culture.
In 1998, Kaul took a break from the hospitality industry and joined Airlines industry. Jet Airways was the leading at the stage and he joined them as a Flight Purser with a dream to pursue his MBA. With this aim, he took an opportunity with the seven-star hotel in Dubai i.e. Burj Al Arab in 1999. He joined there as a Guest Service Executive and within a span of 9months, he was promoted to Manager, Guest Service (Operations) out of the 80 Executives. In this role, Alok was in charge of 80 guest services executives and was responsible for implementing new ideas and processes with a seven star experience.
Training was a key weakness to drive quality. In March 2004, he was promoted to Manager, (Training - Rooms Division) within the hotel and was largely responsible for a team of 400 people for whom he conducted training and quality workshop sessions to build and improve quality standards within rooms division. He finally pursued his MBA dream during this time from Australian University of Wollongong.
After a seven years stint at Burj Al Arab, Dubai, Jumeirah Group moved Kaul as a Duty Manager to Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai in 2006 where he ensured a smooth and efficient running of the hotel operations. With great performance, task force was converted into permanent employment.
In 2007, The Ritz-Carlton, welcomed Kaul in the capacity of Front Office Manager. Between 2007- 2014 he worked at various levels right from housekeeping, Spa, Loss Preventions HOD roles to the director level with The Ritz Carlton in Dubai and Riyadh. He was selected as a corporate trainer and was involved in the pre-opening of various hotels in Middle East. During his tenure at The Ritz Carlton, he had handled visits of various state dignitaries and royal families.
His last held position was Director of Rooms & Residences at The Address, Dubai Mall where he gained Residences and Real Estate experience before he moved to JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity in March 2017.
