Akasa Air has announced the commencement of its operations in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This strategic move includes daily direct flights connecting Mumbai to Jeddah and twice-weekly flights from Ahmedabad starting July 20, 2024. The inaugural flight from Mumbai departed on July 15, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s rapid international expansion.
Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, expressed his enthusiasm about the new routes, stating, “The response to our Mumbai-Riyadh route has been encouraging and reflects the need for enhanced connectivity between India and Saudi Arabia. Direct flights connecting Jeddah with Mumbai and Ahmedabad will foster trade and provide further options to pilgrims from India to Jeddah and drive inbound tourism to the country.”
In addition to increasing international destinations, Akasa Air has introduced various customer-centric services to enhance the travel experience. These include Cafe Akasa, offering diverse culinary options, and Skyscore by Akasa, which provides live sports scores onboard. The airline also emphasises comfort with spacious cabins and in-seat charging facilities.

Akasa Air's entry into Jeddah follows its successful launch in Riyadh in June 2024, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity between India and Saudi Arabia.
