Marking a major boost in travel links between India and Malaysia, AirAsia has introduced its first-ever direct flight service connecting Port Blair to Kuala Lumpur. Coinciding with Malaysia’s recent announcement of visa-free entry for Indian passport holders, the service makes the Southeast Asian destination more accessible than ever.
The inaugural flight took off on November 16, 2024, at 10:55 AM IST from Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair, and landed in Kuala Lumpur at 4:45 PM MST. Travellers from the Andaman Islands and neighbouring regions can now explore Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage and natural wonders with ease.

This weekly service, scheduled every Saturday, is operated on an Airbus A320 with a capacity of 180 passengers, ensuring a comfortable and budget-friendly travel experience. The new route is set to enhance opportunities for both leisure and business travel, fostering stronger cultural and economic ties between the two nations.
