7th BW Hotelier Indian Hospitality Awards begin at Pullman Hotel, Aerocity

The seventh edition of the BW Hotelier Indian Hospitality Awards and Summit 2023 event was initiated with great enthusiasm and fervour.

The highlight of this remarkable occasion was the lamp lighting ceremony conducted by the esteemed individuals, namely Dr Annurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, BW Businessworld, and Bhuvanesh Khanna, CEO, BW Communities, BW Businessworld; KB Kachru, Chairman Emeritus & Principal Advisor – South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group; Puneet Chhatwal, MD & CEO, The Indian Hotels Co Ltd; Rahul Kanwal, Executive Director, Business Today and News Director, India Today and Aaj Tak; Dr Dipak C Jain, Co-Chair of Academic Council of China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) Social Security and Ageing Finance Institute; Rajiv Kaul, Former President, Leela Hotels

This symbolic act of illuminating the lamp marked the commencement of India's most premium gathering, which would be etched in the memories of all those in attendance. The event saw a distinguished gathering of hospitality leaders who came together to celebrate the occasion. This assembly of notable personalities added an aura of significance to the proceedings, making it an extraordinary affair.

Bhuvanesh Khanna, CEO, BW Communities, BW Businessworld remarked, "BW Hotelier have made remarkable progress since January 12, 2015, when we were born at the Leela in New Delhi as a small operation. Today, with this two-day summit and award, we continue our journey forward, remaining not only focused on awards but also committed to being gracious, transparent, and fiercely forthright."

Commenting on the future trajectory of the hospitality industry, Dr Annurag Batra, the Chairman & Editor-in-Chief of BW Businessworld stated, "We know that the hospitality industry last year was worth USD 40 billion. It is most likely to be about USD 50 billion this year. And over the next two to three years, it will be close to USD 70 billion. In the next 25 years, it's likely to hit a trillion dollars; it may do it even before that."
