Clarks Inn Group of Hotels rebranded as The Clarks Hotels & Resorts, has entered its next phase of expansion. The hospitality chain currently operates 80 properties across India and wants to add 150 more properties by 2023. The aim is to have 70 operational hotels by the end of 2022. Along with the domestic expansion, the company is also eyeing the international market. They have established their base in Europe with Clarks Inn International B.V. The group is planning to start their operation shortly, by bringing famous Indian hospitality to Europe. They already have finalised a property in Sri Lanka and a team is deployed for the same.
The group already has a large network of hotels and management reach. A large portion of their portfolio caters to Tier 2-3 cities where no other organized, professional management company is present. They fill a niche gap between the upper and middle sections of society. In order to cater to the different target audiences, they have different sub-brands Clarks Premier, Clarks Exotica, Clark's inn Suites, Clarks Inn, and Clarks Inn Express. They have entered into the Midscale Segment with their brand Clarks Inn, which filled an important gap between luxury and economical hotels.
They are also targeting the leisure space as it has emerged as a promising sector, with increased footfalls. They have established a new brand by the name of “The Clarks”, only luxury hotels will come under this brand.
“Exponential growth with quality is another focus point for us. Over the course of 12 years, we have grown at a rapid pace, at times it has affected the quality with regards to a few properties. But now as a brand policy, we are only going to be engaging with hotels and owners who are a perfect fit for the brand values. We are looking for properties with whom we are able to sign multiple properties deal. We are also going to be looking into the lease, 3rd party management, and brand acquisition to reach our exponential growth goals of having 150-200 hotels by 2023 with an average key size of 60 rooms and above,” shared Aryavir Kumar, Managing Director, The Clarks Hotels & Resorts.
The group is going to invest substantially in technology, in order to organise and streamline the processes further. With the growth in domestic tourism and encouraging predictions for the next financial year, the group is all set to create a mark both internationally and domestically.
