Taj Group Holds First Sales Mission in India

THE FIRST edition of two-day Taj Sales Mission took place at the Taj Palace (which has been renamed as Taj Diplomatic Enclave), New Delhi where 37 hotels of the Taj group participated in B2B sessions with travel and trade specialists. The participating hotels were from Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Goa, Kochi, Bekal, Srinagar, Jodhpur, Dwarka, Guwahati, Corbett, Gwalior, Ranthambore, Varanasi, Amjer and Andamans. International Taj properties such as Taj Tashi Bhutan and Taj Dubai also took part.

Renu Basu, Global Vice President Sales, The Indian Hotels Company Limited, said on the occasion, “We have decided to have a sales mission from this year because our hotels are growing. This ultimately is creating a need for the General Managers and Director of Sales and Marketing to meet their customers. Under this one roof, our main objective is to educate our travel trade partners on our new hotels and to familiarise them on the product and engagement.”

Basu also introduced some of the new participating hotels like the recently opened Taj Amritsar and Taj Theog Resort and Spa which will be launching soon. “What we bring to this new platform is our new hotels that are ready to be taken to the market and introduced,” she said.

For the whole Taj group, Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore are the key source market according to Basu. The Taj group have 82 hotels in India and 16 internationally with the combination of resorts, palaces, hotels and safaris.

All the sales team from different Taj properties like Indira D’lima Barreto, Director of Sales and Marketing, Taj Exotica Resort and Spa, Goa; Jitender Singh Lote, General manager, Theog resort and Spa, Shimla; Saad zahid, Associate Director of Sales-Leisure, Taj Dubai; Varun Grover, The gateway Hotel, Ganges Varanasi; Sameer javed, Taj Resorts, Goa and many more were present in the B2B session.
