Rajasthan Tourism has been recognised with two prestigious accolades at the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Travel Awards 2024. The state was named the ‘Favourite Indian State for Road Trips’ and secured the runner-up spot in the ‘Favorite Leisure Destination in India’ category, with Udaipur earning this distinction.
Tourism Secretary Ravi Jain expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting the significance of the awards as a benchmark in the hospitality industry. He noted that being chosen by travellers themselves underscores Rajasthan’s appeal on the global tourism stage and reinforces its tagline, ‘Padharo Mhare Desh.’
Expressing her delight, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari said, “It is a moment of pride that Rajasthan has been recognized with two awards in distinct categories at the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Travel Awards 2024. Through active participation in various travel marts and exhibitions, we are dedicated to enhancing Rajasthan’s global presence as a tourism destination. Our objective is to further increase the influx of both domestic and international tourists to Rajasthan.”
Rajasthan’s popularity is evident in its impressive tourism numbers. From January to September 2024, the state welcomed over 16.8 million domestic and 875,940 international tourists across Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur. Jaipur led with 8.8 million domestic and 413,401 international visitors, followed by Udaipur with 6.1 million domestic and 328,733 international tourists, and Jodhpur with 1.7 million domestic and 133,806 international visitors.
