MP Tourism to host Skydiving Festival in Ujjain

It is scheduled to commence on November 09, 2024 and conclude on February 09, 2025 to offer a three-month-long adventure experience

The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is set to organise the fourth consecutive Skydiving Festival with the aim to boost adventure tourism and diversify tourism activities in the state. The tourists will gain a thrilling opportunity to jump from a height of 10,000 ft and witness the magnificent view of the spiritual city of Ujjain.

This three-month extravaganza is scheduled to commence on November 09, 2024 and conclude on February 09, 2025 to offer a three-month-long adventure experience.  Culture, Tourism and Religious Trusts and Endowments Minister Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi said that various events and activities are being organised under the guidance of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to make the state a prominent tourist destination. As part of this initiative, Ujjain will be transformed into an adventure tourism hub with the launch of the Skydiving Festival. 

Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture Department and Managing Director Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, Sheo Shekhar Shukla said that considering the success of the previous three editions and the enthusiastic response from tourists, the fourth edition of the Skydiving Festival will be held in Ujjain for three months. Adventure enthusiasts will be able to experience the thrill of flying in the sky at the Datana airstrip in Ujjain. 

Sky-high India (organising company) will be using a specially modified Cessna 182P aircraft capable of carrying six people at a time for skydiving. However at a time, two participants with two instructors will be carried for skydiving. Shri Shukla added more than 1,000 participants are likely to participate in these three months. Along with sky-diving, other air-based activities will also be conducted in future.

Skydiving operations will be conducted by Sky-high India, a company certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the United States Parachute Association (USPA). The aircraft used for skydiving is registered with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Highly trained skydivers will assist participants in ensuring a safe and thrilling experience.
