Minor Hotels appoints Vijay Krishnan-Vazhvelil as Vice President for Indian Operations

Vijay Krishnan-Vazhvelil has been appointed as Vice President, Operations, India, by Minor Hotels. Krishnan-Vazhvelil, an experienced business leader with a focus on luxury hospitality, wildlife tourism, and experiential travel, brings over two decades of experience to the role.

Having worked for various brands, including Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, American Express Banking Corporation, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club, and Aramness luxury wildlife lodge in India, Krishnan-Vazhvelil has a proven track record in managing strategic growth in emerging markets with a sustainability focus. In his previous role as Vice President of Operations at Royal Orchid & Regenta Hotels & Resorts, he managed multiple properties across India.

In his newly created position at Minor Hotels, Krishnan-Vazhvelil will work alongside Amir Golbarg, Senior Vice President, Middle East, Africa, and India, and the broader Minor Hotels team based in Dubai and Bangkok. His role will be instrumental in building a sustainable pipeline and operations in India. Amir Golbarg expressed confidence in Krishnan-Vazhvelil's extensive experience in managing complex luxury hotel and resort operations, stating that it will be invaluable for executing expansion plans in India.

Krishnan-Vazhvelil holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from Mangalore University, India, and has completed courses from Cornell University, USA, in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management and Managing Strategic Growth and Leadership in Emerging Markets in Hotels and Resorts.
