LOUVRE HOTELS Group has introduced its Kyriad brand in India and has announced an ambitious plan for expansion across the entire Indian subcontinent. Building on its extensive Indian presence, the Group is consolidating its leadership in the heart of a rapidly growing market and a major source of leisure and business tourists.
Louvre Hotels Group has further consolidated its presence as one of the largest hotel group in India. Together with the acquisition, in January 2017, of the Sarovar Hotels & Resort chain, it has further broadened the network of Golden Tulip, Tulip Inn and Royal Tulip brands and now has 126 hotels. Thanks to the recent agreement made with Orange Tiger Hospitality Private Limited, which currently manages all Citrus Hotels in the sub-continent, the Group will continue its expansion and thereby introduce the brand Kyriad.
Under the terms of the agreement with the Indian operator, as of 2018, Orange Tiger will be operating eight hotels under brand Kyriad by mid – October and fifteen by the end of this financial year and then at least ten new hotels will open every year. The scope of the agreement is not just limited to India; it encompasses opportunities for development in Nepal, Sri-Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, The Maldives, Pakistan and Mauritius. Therefore, this partnership will provide Louvre Hotels Group, in addition to its strong presence in China, with a new mainstay to continue its expansion in South Asia. Its booming economy, high tourist potential and increasing number of hotel visitors all combine to make India, with its population of over 1.2 billion people, an excellent opportunity and strategic market for the Group.
“Our goal is to become one of the top hospitality group by 2023. This calls for a strategic approach to countries with high growth potential such as India, where we introduce new brands that complement our existing presence and as always are tailored to address the needs of domestic and international, business and leisure travellers”, explains Saurabh Chawla, Global Chief Development Officer at Louvre Hotels Group.
“The demand for midscale full-service hotels is ever growing in India and over the past few years, the liking for an International brand is on an upswing. With our expertise of managing the hotel operations as well as revenues, we are sure to take brand Kyriad to newer heights in South Asia. Kyriad is the perfect answer to both business and leisure travellers seeking quality accommodation at affordable prices,” says Abhijeet Shrivastava, CEO, Orange Tiger Hospitality.
Louvre Hotels Group already operates 2,600 hotels worldwide, including 1,220 in China where it recently introduced the Kyriad brand. The Group aims to open 20 new hotels in China under this brand in 2018.
