InterGlobe Foundation launches HERITAGE fellowships 2024

This initiative invites individuals to research and explore the 'associated intangible heritage' and 'craft traditions' related to India's iconic built heritage sites

The InterGlobe Foundation has announced the InterGlobe HERITAGE Fellowships 2024, aimed at documenting and promoting India's diverse heritage. This initiative invites individuals to research and explore the 'associated intangible heritage' and 'craft traditions' related to India's iconic built heritage sites. Applications are open for various creative submissions, including photo essays and written works.

Two fellows will be selected through a jury process to investigate the cultural narratives intertwined with these sites, focusing on ceremonies, rituals, and craftsmanship.

Rohini Bhatia, Chairperson, InterGlobe Foundation, said, “At InterGlobe Foundation, we believe that truly understanding a monument goes beyond admiring its physical structure. It's about connecting with the living heritage and the intangible cultural tapestry woven into its existence. Through these Fellowships, our aim is to empower individuals to explore and document these often-hidden narratives, stories, traditions, and craftsmanship, ensuring that our built heritage is celebrated and preserved for future generations."

Launched in 2022, the Fellowships have highlighted previously undocumented aspects of Indian heritage, with past projects covering topics such as tribal life in Telangana and musical instruments. The application deadline for the 2024 Fellowships is October 31, 2024.
