India showcases tourism potential at PATA Travel Mart 2024 in Bangkok

This participation at one of Asia's most influential travel exhibitions underscored India's strategic intent to strengthen its presence in key international markets

India's Ministry of Tourism took significant steps  to promote inbound tourism by participating in the PATA Travel Mart 2024, held in Bangkok from August 27- 29, 2024. The Incredible India Pavilion, inaugurated by India's Ambassador to Thailand, H E Nagesh Singh, highlighted the nation's diverse tourism offerings to a global audience. This participation at one of Asia's most influential travel exhibitions underscored India's strategic intent to strengthen its presence in key international markets.

The Indian delegation, comprising officials from the Ministry and leading private sector stakeholders, engaged in productive discussions with global travel industry leaders. This initiative is part of India’s broader strategy to significantly increase inbound tourism by showcasing its vibrant culture, rich heritage, natural beauty, and innovative experiences.

In 2023, India welcomed 9.24 million foreign tourists. By participating in PATA 2024, the Ministry aims to build on this momentum, positioning India as a premier travel destination. The Incredible India Pavilion provided a platform to present the country's unique attractions, from ancient traditions to modern tourism experiences, enhancing India's appeal in the global travel market.
