IHG Hotels & Resorts expands in Chennai with upcoming Holiday Inn property

On December 5, 2024, IHG Hotels & Resorts announced a management agreement with Sakthi Elegant Towers India Pvt Ltd for the development of Holiday Inn Chennai Vandalur, marking the company's fifth hotel and third under the Holiday Inn brand in Chennai. Scheduled to open in 2026, the new hotel will feature 200 guest rooms and aims to cater to the growing demand for hospitality in the region. Located near Chennai International Airport and major industrial centres, the hotel will introduce the Open Lobby concept, designed to foster guest interactions and relaxation. 

Commenting on the signing, Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts said, “We are delighted to welcome Holiday Inn Chennai Vandalur, a strategic addition to our growing portfolio in South India. Chennai is experiencing robust economic growth, and it has become a key destination for both domestic and international travellers seeking a mix of business and leisure experiences. To meet the rising demand for world-class hospitality in Chennai, we have signed IHG’s fifth hotel and third Holiday Inn in the city.”
