Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) and Tata STRIVE have formed a partnership with the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) to launch a skill centre aimed at enhancing employability among underserved youth in Tripura. The Centre of Excellence (CoE) will be located in Khumulwng, West Tripura, focussing on career development in the hospitality industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President – Human Resources, IHCL said, “Guided by our ESG+ framework of Paathya and our commitment to giving back to the society, this skill development programme aims to bridge the employability gap in hospitality by empowering economically and socially disadvantaged youth. By equipping Tripura’s tribal youth with industry-relevant skills, we are opening doors to meaningful careers and contributing to the socio-economic growth of the region.”

The initiative is a continuation of IHCL's efforts to address employability challenges and is designed to equip local tribal youth with relevant skills through a comprehensive curriculum that emphasises practical training in areas such as Food & Beverage Service, Housekeeping Operations, Front Office, and Kitchen.
