Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to be the new Union Tourism and Culture Minister

He is athird time MP in Lok Sabha and a third time minister in the Modi government

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will head the Union Tourism and Culture ministries in Modi 3.0. The Jodhpur Member of Parliament, fondly called Gajju Banna, held the Jal Shakti Ministry portfolio in Modi 2.0.  

A third time MP in Lok Sabha and a third time minister in the Modi government, 56-year-old Shekhawat is one of the most prominent Rajput faces of Rajasthan. Born in Jaisalmer, Shekhawat began his political career as a student in 1992 from Jodhpur’s Jai Narain Vyas University. Armed with a Masters in Arts and an M Phil in Philosophy, he is seen as BJP’s next generation leader. He is a former National General Secretary of BJP’s Kisan Morcha, the farmers wing of the BJP.
