Fortune Hotels, a member of ITC’s hotel group, has further expanded its footprint in Uttar Pradesh by signing an operating agreement for a new upscale property in Gorakhpur. This marks the brand's seventh alliance in the state, underscoring its strategic focus on tapping into the burgeoning potential of one of India's fastest-growing regions.
The newly signed property, named Fortune Park Gorakhpur, is located in the heart of the city, offering an experience for city, pilgrim, and business guests alike. The hotel features 74 contemporary, well-appointed rooms, multiple dining outlets, modern meeting and banquet spaces, and state-of-the-art facilities. The property is expected to open its doors by October 2026.
Commenting on the new signing, Samir MC, Managing Director of Fortune Hotels, emphasised the strategic importance of the expansion. "It was only prudent for us to further strengthen our presence in Uttar Pradesh given the state’s brimming potential for promising returns. We already have six strategic alliances in UP, and the signing of this agreement further demonstrates our commitment to the state. Fortune Park Gorakhpur will enable us to cater to all kinds of transient travellers as well as city guests. This up-and-coming region presents a promising opportunity, making it the perfect timing for forging such alliances. With this new property, we emphasise our focus on delivering exceptional hospitality experiences in emerging markets across India."
Fortune Park Gorakhpur's location is particularly strategic, being just a short walk from the railway station, 7.5 km from the Gorakhpur International Airport, and approximately three km from the ancient Gorakhnath Math. The temple, significant to the Nath monastic order, attracts numerous visitors and devotees year-round, further enhancing the hotel's appeal to religious tourists. In recent years, Gorakhpur has emerged as a preferred destination for businesses and investors, with a burgeoning IT and startup ecosystem and an upcoming IT Park. This development is set to bolster the city’s profile as a pivotal metropolis in the region, attracting both business travellers and investors.
