Cleartrip, has reported an impressive 150 per cent growth in its bus category since its launch in April 2023. This surge underscores the rising demand for bus travel, particularly from tier 2 cities. To capitalise on this trend, Cleartrip has introduced the ‘Bus Pass’, an initiative aimed at making bus travel more affordable for frequent travellers.
The ‘Bus Pass’ is designed to offer significant savings and value for regular bus users. Priced at Rs 150, it provides an immediate discount of Rs 100 on bookings with a minimum order value of Rs 300. Each pass allows up to five discounted bookings and is valid for 90 days, potentially saving users up to Rs 500.
Cleartrip’s consumer data reveals that the bus category has the highest number of frequent travellers, with 32 per cent of users repeating their bookings within the last three months. Additionally, 15 per cent of users book at least three times within this period. The data also shows that bus travellers are highly value-conscious, with 75 per cent using discount coupons while booking. Popular routes with high repeat bookings include Indore-Bhopal, Bengaluru-Hyderabad, Indore-Pune, Chennai-Madurai, and Coimbatore-Bengaluru.
