Subhrajit Bardhan Become General Manager of Swissotel Kolkata

Subhrajit Bardhan has been appointed the General Manager of Swissôtel Kolkata, the internationally renowned Swiss hospitality group’s maiden property in India.

With a career spanning more than 21 years in the hospitality industry in India, Europe and Hong Kong. Subhrajit Bardhan has an impressive record of being associated with renowned hotels of the world like The Oberoi Group, Hyatt Hotels and the award winning Ananda in the Himalayas. 

Subhrajit Bardhan began his career with The Oberoi Hotels, after being selected for the prestigious Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development. Beginning on the culinary side, within a span of few years he was promoted as a Sous Chef. Being in the right place at right time to start a career as a Sous chef for The Oberoi Grand in Kolkata was instrumental to his success, as during this time he was involved in two unique openings namely, India’s first all day dining and international buffet restaurant ‘La-Terrasse’ and The Oberoi Wildflower Hall. After that he took off to Europe and Hong Kong where he donned the chef’s hat for a number of restaurants. In 2007, he returned to India and joined the Ananda in Himalayas as Executive Chef. During his time there, he was instrumental in helping the team win the ‘Conde Nast Traveller Reader's Travel Awards’ for Number One Destination Spa. Prior to joining Swissôtel Kolkata, his last assignment was at the Park Hyatt Goa as an Executive Assistant Manager. 

Bardhan’s expertise in food and beverage, operations and guest services will position him well in this role. He brings on board his creativity and a hands-on approach.
