Intellistay Hotels to Sign 40 Properties by March 2019

INTELLISTAY HOTELS curates and brands India’s best independent hotels with operational discipline, intuitive service and smart design under three brands: Mango Hotels, Apodis Collections and i-stay Hotels. We speak to Prashanth Rao Aroor, CEO, Intellistay Hotels on the future of the brand.

Founded in 2008, Intellistay Hotels opened their first hotel in 2011 and is currently running 30 hotels — 18 operating and 12 under development.

According to Aroor, there is a need to promote the brand and he feels, “Our business is about the distribution, reputation and loyalty. So we promote on digital platforms with a clear strategy for each brand and via third-party partners like OTAs. Most of the promotions for our industry happen under BTL.”

Having both mid and luxury segment, the brand offers bespoke resorts, personalised stays and quirky transit locations for the family as well as business travellers. Aroor also speaks about the company’s expansion plans and to sign 40 properties across the segments by March 2019 and onto 100 by March 2020.

As per the competition with the other brands in the segment, he believes, “While we have our value proposition which has demonstrated to work via a number of branded hotels re-branded with us, the whole pie in India is growing so fast that there is room for everyone for the foreseeable future. We will stick to our dual value strategy of creating value for both hotel owners and hotel users to stay competitive.”
