IHCL announces the signing of a Taj Hotel in Kanpur

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Taj branded hotel in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The hotel is a greenfield project.
The 150-key hotel is strategically located in heart of the city. It will feature an all-day dining, a bar, two specialty restaurants, and J Wellness Circle spa. Additionally, the hotel will boast over 10,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space, providing versatile event spaces.
Speaking on the occasion, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, said, “Kanpur's recent inclusion among India’s smart cities, coupled with significant infrastructural advancements, is providing a fillip to the city’s hospitality landscape. This signing signifies our strategic focus on expanding our portfolio in emerging markets with strong growth potential. We are delighted to partner with JK Urbanscapes for this venture.”

With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 26 hotels Uttar Pradesh under including 13 under development.
