Dusit International has signed an MoU with Saudi Arabia's Tourism Development Fund (TDF) to develop luxury hospitality projects across the Kingdom, aiming to enhance its tourism infrastructure. The agreement, finalised during the World Travel Market 2024 in London, marks a step toward Dusit’s sustainable global expansion and TDF’s mission to foster international partnerships.
Saudi Arabia's tourism sector has shown remarkable growth, with inbound visitor spending rising 8.2 per cent in the first half of 2024 compared to 2023, reaching SAR 92.6 billion. The Kingdom also reported a SAR 41.6 billion surplus in its travel account. According to UN Tourism data, Saudi Arabia led G20 countries in international tourist arrivals and tourism receipt growth in 2024, with arrivals up 73 per cent and receipts soaring by 207 per cent compared to 2019.
“Dusit International is deeply honoured to sign this MoU,” said Suphajee Suthumpun, Group CEO, Dusit International. “This marks a significant milestone for us as we seek to bring our unique brand of Thai-inspired gracious hospitality to one of the world's most dynamic tourism landscapes. Saudi Arabia is a key focus for our growth, and partnering with TDF provides invaluable opportunities to connect with high-potential investments across the Kingdom. We look forward to contributing to Saudi Arabia’s National Tourism Strategy and delivering hotel experiences that bring enduring value to all stakeholders.”
Aligned with Vision 2030 and the National Tourism Strategy, TDF seeks to diversify the Kingdom’s offerings with sustainable, high-impact projects. Dusit, leveraging 75 years of hospitality expertise, will identify prime development opportunities under the partnership. With a portfolio spanning 301 properties across 18 countries, including eight in the Middle East, Dusit offers brands ranging from luxury (Dusit Thani) to lifestyle (ASAI Hotels).
