A TRAVELLER at heart, Nikita Gonsalves likes to explore different places and watch travel documentaries. She is well networked with the Travel Trade, EMC and Corporate fraternity and joins the leadership with the ability to develop and nurture talent under her. Gonsalves has been newly appointed as the Director of Sales and Marketing at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar.
With over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, her expertise are in developing strategies for driving revenue through weddings and catering, MICE, groups and transient business segments.
“I have been with the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar for almost 2 years now and I can confidently say that each day has been unique and exciting in its own way. My journey has helped me elevate my passion for excellence, attention to detail and the quest for uncompromising quality. Being a part of the success story of this hotel is a matter of great pride for me,” Gonsalves told us.
She believes that challenges are opportunities for a person to grow and excel. “While there may be a number of problems that I have come across, there will be none that I would attribute to being a woman. Also, Marriott International is an organization where there is absolutely no gender bias and growth is based on opportunities and merit,” said Gonsalves.
Working in close conjunction with revenue teams in the past has helped her sharpen her astute knowledge with respect to driving business from OTAs and other digital platforms as well.
Speaking about the strategies at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, Gonsalves shared, “We will look at personalizing our offerings keeping the guest needs, preferences and requirements in mind. We have re-looked at our pricing strategies across segments to ensure we maximize revenues on all fronts. We will also be optimizing our marketing efforts in order to enhance revenues of the hotel,” she said.
According to Gonsalves, the year 2017-18 is going to be exciting for JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar. Speaking about the future plans she said, “Business is booming and there is an increase in demand in the market. The plan for the forthcoming year is to further grow each of our business segments and take them to new heights. We will seek to explore newer associations with brands and organizations that align with our brand voice. We will continue to augment our e-commerce efforts, digital and traditional marketing initiatives,” she said.
