Sustainability at the Heart: A Magnificent Tapestry

As the beating heart of Rann Utsav, sustainability is not merely a buzzword but a guiding principle woven into every aspect of the festival. The commitment to environmental responsibility goes beyond lip service, manifesting in tangible actions that contribute to the preservation of the pristine landscapes of Kutch.

First and foremost, the very structure of Rann Utsav exemplifies the commitment to sustainability. At the end of each season, a remarkable feat is undertaken – all tents, furniture, and fixtures are meticulously packed away, preserving them for the next year. This annual ritual not only ensures the longevity of the infrastructure but also minimises the environmental impact associated with permanent constructions. The careful disassembly and storage of these elements exemplify the dedication to minimising the festival’s footprint on the delicate ecosystem of the White Rann.

One of the most striking features of Rann Utsav’s sustainable practices lies in its power supply. The festival relies on solar sources for its electricity needs. The vast expanse of the White Rann is not only a canvas for cultural celebrations but also a canvas for harnessing the power of the sun. This reliance on clean energy not only reduces the carbon footprint but also sets an inspiring example for large-scale events aiming for eco-conscious practices.

The seamless movement within the tent city is facilitated by electric golf carts and e-rickshaws, all powered by electricity sourced from renewable energy. These vehicles, silent and emission-free, glide through the festival grounds, providing a convenient and environmentally friendly mode of transportation for guests. It’s not just a means of getting from point A to point B; it’s a commitment to reducing the ecological impact of human activities on the fragile ecosystem of the Rann.

In the heart of the festival, where culinary delights are crafted to perfection, sustainability extends to the kitchens. Every effort is made to run the kitchens with utmost efficiency. Careful portion management ensures that food waste is minimised, reflecting a conscientious approach to resource utilisation. This meticulous attention to detail not only aligns with sustainability goals but also reflects a respect for the resources and a commitment to responsible consumption.

In essence, Rann Utsav’s commitment to sustainability is not a mere addendum to its grandeur; it’s an integral part of the festival’s DNA. The meticulous packing and unpacking of the infrastructure, the reliance on solar power, the use of electric vehicles, and the efficient management of resources in the kitchens collectively create a magnificent tapestry of sustainability. It’s a testament to the idea that cultural celebrations can coexist harmoniously with nature, leaving behind not just footprints in the sand but a legacy of responsible event management for future generations to admire and emulate.

In conclusion, Rann Utsav – The Tent City by Evoke Experiences is more than a cultural extravaganza; it’s a holistic journey that caters to diverse interests. The seamless connectivity from Ahmedabad ensures that the journey is as delightful as the destination. The shopping opportunities and diverse culinary offerings complement the grandeur of the tent city, creating an immersive experience that transcends the ordinary. Evoke Experiences’ Rann Utsav Tent City is a distinctive concept that blends the emerging trend of glamping with carefully curated, unique experiences set against the backdrop of a natural habitat. Offering a truly unparalleled tourist experience, every visitor becomes a brand ambassador, and our best marketing tool is the positive word-of-mouth generated from their stay.

The tented accommodation, designed for a temporary four-month period, encompasses all essential hospitality amenities, experiential tours and active involvement of the local community, providing an authentic flavour of Kutch. It offers a 360-degree view of Kutch, seamlessly merging cultural and local aspects to craft a unique experience.

The Tent City takes 45 days for both setup and dismantling, involving 350 artisans in the process. Housing approximately 1,100 people a day, the tents can accommodate up to 1,200 during weddings when three beds are allowed per tent. As the official contractor, our parent company, Lallooji and Sons, boasts extensive experience, having been the largest provider of tents at Kumbh Mela. We are well-versed in the technical requirements for creating hospitality facilities and holistic experiences at tented venues.

Over the past decade, we have hosted 2.5 lakh guests. Our biggest USP is the natural component — the mesmerising white desert that graces us for four winter months.

Looking forward, we aspire to explore captivating natural sites like Kuno for future expansion. Our goal is to demonstrate that remote locations can be commercially viable for tourism by efficiently creating, curating, and operating facilities within 45 days. Site selection involves assessing connectivity, special natural features, and the potential for creating unique experiences. We primarily focus on sites in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.

Our primary task is to craft comprehensive itineraries and involve the local population as much as possible in the entire endeavour.
