‘Our team is geared up for MICE and weddings’

With MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions) sector, pegged at around Rs 25,000 crore in India with a growth of 8 per cent, looking up after a lull of close to two years in the country, the hospitality industry is gearing up to welcome guests once again.

One such property, located within minutes from Indira Gandhi International Airport in the National Capital, is Four Points by Sheraton - New Delhi Airport Highway. An ideal destination for MICE events, the 70-key hotel is spread over 10 acres of lush greenery and has plush décor in its rooms that look over the sweeping views of landscaped gardens and a pool. Equipped with modern amenities, the hotel has four event rooms comprising a total of around 9,500 sq ft area including 1,500 sq ft event space.

While interacting with BW HOTELIER, General Manager of Four Points by Sheraton - New Delhi Airport Highway Sumit Gogia says that the last 20 months were full of uncertainties. However, he feels that it has taught us all to be on our toes 24x7 and adapt innovative strategies to deliver the best. “Keeping the current scenario in mind, we have upgraded our corporate and events facilities. Our banquets now cater to virtual training, and we have introduced group stay packages as a corporate plan. Further, our lush green lawns have been beautifully revamped to welcome the exhibitors back with a fresher perspective,” he says.

Not only is Four Points by Sheraton - New Delhi Airport Highway is well-equipped to handle MICE but weddings as well. All hotel associates are fully vaccinated and as per Marriott safety standards, all health and hygiene protocols are strictly followed at the hotel including wearing masks, frequent cleaning of all touchpoints, temperature checks and more. “Further, we have introduced an hourly reminder in our kitchen for everyone to rush out and wash their hands in a prescribed manner by World Health Organisation (WHO). So, along with facilities and amenities, we are a safe hotel for weddings and MICE,” Gogia informs.

CHANGING SCENARIO

These unprecedented times have not only created uncertainty but have changed everyone’s perspective towards their respective roles. The guests have now moved to healthier options and the hospitality industry associates are expected to don many hats. A multi-tasker himself, Gogia, who excels all the three segments – F&B, operations, sales and marketing – affirms that guest expectations have changed significantly. “Apart from health and hygiene, they are more selective about value for money pertaining to the variety of the spread, décor, ambience and minute details. Today, the guests focus on promptness, high quality of service, and a friendly environment by warm and sincere associates,” he says.

FUTURE PLANS

The hotel has a robust sales and marketing plan for next year. With several F&B events in the pipeline, the property is in the process of collaborating with a range of brands and will be introducing its new menu at its all-day dining restaurant Eatery. “Our team is all geared to cater to MICE and weddings in terms of sales,” avers Gogia, adding the property is undergoing major transformation which will showcase the new revamped rooms by the end of January 2022, followed by a new fresh look of lobby.
