ROYAL ORCHID Hotels have recently added one more hotel under its brand “Regenta” in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The hotel comprises of 74 furnished rooms overlooking a picturesque view of the forest allowing its guest to experience the tranquillity of nature.
Chender K. Baljee, MD of the Royal Orchid Hotels spoke to BW Hotelier on the launch, “We are glad to bring our brand of hotels in this state every time. Uttrakhand has always been an important market for hoteliers in terms of both business and leisure segments. Whereas under Narendra Modi’s Government, tourism is going to witness a boost and we intend to tap this segment with our existing portfolio along with our newly launched property in Dehradun”.
Adding more to Uttarakhand tourism, Baljee said, “We do not have any specific association as such with Uttarakhand Tourism but can’t deny the fact that it is because of their support today we have three hotels in Uttrakhand. For the foreign travellers all our three hotels are in prime locations like Haridwar, Dehradun and Mussoorie. We also provide customized packages for travellers which help them to explore the city to max and make their holiday as a perfect getaway.”
According to Baljee, Royal Orchid Hotels made a remarkable turnaround in the last financial year (FY17) after a gap of three years. “The strategy we follow is called Asset Light model Strategy, is a business model where businesses now instead of purchasing the land enter into a contract with the hotel owner. Here, they share a certain percentage of profit arising out of the business done with the Hotel. This helps in saving huge cost to the business in terms of investing time, money and effort,” says Baljee.
“Changing economy, customer preferences, competitions, political reforms, technology are few factors which adds to the hurdles while expanding the brand”, stated Baljee.
