GVK MUMBAI International Airport Private Limited (MIAL), a joint venture between a GVK-led consortium and the Airports Authority of India, has been declared as the winner of the ’Golden Peacock Award for Risk Management’ for 2015 by an awards jury under the Chairmanship of Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India.
The award was presented at a specially organized presentation ceremony, the ’Golden Peacock Awards Nite’ at Hotel ITC Windsor Manor, Bengaluru in the presence of a distinguished gathering of business leaders during IOD's National Convention on Risk Management, which was held at the same venue recently.
The Golden Peacock secretariat received 77 responses this year, of which 31 applications were shortlisted for final selection and only 12 were awarded after careful scrutiny through a three-tier assessment process managed by a group of Risk Management experts.
The award was conferred on a company each from 12 industry sectors. MIAL secured the honour in Transportation (Aviation). The Golden Peacock award comes on the back of 38 other awards and accolades that MIAL has won in the year 2015 for the world-class and passenger-friendly facilities and services at the international airport, including the Pranaam GVK Guest Services, the GVK Lounge, the Airport Garden, the architecture and structural design of the terminal and other features.
