AMIT RAMAN is a strategic planner with experience in leading the Food & Beverage operations. He is resourceful at developing procedures, service standards and operational policies with proven ability to reduce revenue costs by planning and implementing effective control measures.
Raman has recently been appointed as the Food and Beverages Manager at Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport, part of the InterContinental Hotels Group. He has a vision to make the property, a perfect destination for unprecedented hospitality and gastronomy with North Mumbai’s fresh offerings for the business and leisure traveler.
Speaking to BW Hotelier, Raman began by telling us about the recent trends in F&B sector, “food connoisseurs are looking to indulge in food and beverage offerings that are preservative free, organic and have natural ingredients. Consumers are far more aware of the ingredients being used for the food they consume. They read the origin of the elements used in the food and are inquisitive to know more about what they eat,” he said.
According to Raman in today’s busy and stressful life, restaurants are offerings varied options in modernized comfort foods that are innovative and indulgent than the norm. “All over the world, there is a rise in fine dining, guests are in search of superior culinary craftsmanship, including both global and authentic Indian regional cuisine cooked with finesse. Also, serving fusion meals incorporating traditional ingredients in a creative and contemporary manner to satiate the guests’ palate is on a rise,” he added.
Raman has over 17 years of experience in hospitality industry. Prior to joining Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport, he has worked with renowned brands including Holiday Inn Resort & Spa Goa, Cidade de Goa, The Zuri White Sands Resort & Casino Goa, The Kenilworth Beach Resort & Spa Goa, Le Meridien New Delhi.
On asking about the clientele Raman says that most of the corporates and business executives choose the hotel due to its proximity from the airport, economic value, and state of the art facilities. The hotel is centrally located to all major business hubs in Mumbai.
Raman feels that acting on feedback is essential for keeping the hotel ahead in the competitive world. “We want to be constantly innovating and creative in our food offerings, further we want to gain customer satisfaction and loyalty by offering the best dining experience in Mumbai. We hope to delight our guests by delectable food and beverage innovations,” he said on his future plans.
