Rated above exclusive luxury hospitality chains worldwide, The Leela, a network of nine properties across India, has been voted fifth in the ‘Top 15 Hotel Brands in the World’ category and The Leela Palace New Delhi ranked third in the ‘Top 10 City Hotels in Asia’ category, demonstrating the group’s consistent excellence on a global scale. The awards are a result of a worldwide Readers Poll conducted by Travel + Leisure USA, in which travelers hand-pick and rate the world’s most exceptional hotels on key parameters - quality, location, service, restaurants, and value.

Rajiv Kaul, president, The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts said: “We are delighted to make our debut amongst the ‘Top five Hotel Brands of the World’ and thank the discerning readers of Travel + Leisure USA for their appreciation. This recognition shall further spur our young talented team to continue to offer the finest hospitality experience and find new ways to delight our guests.”

In a short span of three decades, The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, founded by Late Chairman Captain CP Krishnan Nair, has grown from one hotel to a network of nine world-class luxury hotels spread across key destinations in India, with plans to expand in the country and overseas through management contracts.

In addition to the magnificent The Leela Palace New Delhi which is celebrating its fifth anniversary, and The Leela Palace Chennai, the city’s only sea-facing modern Palace hotel, which opened its doors three years ago with rave reviews, new upcoming projects include a luxury resort in Jaipur; a business hotel at Bhartiya City, Bangalore, strategically located near the international airport; and a Palace hotel in Agra, where every room will face The Taj Mahal.

The World's Best Hotels Awards will be published in the August edition of Travel + leisure. The awards are part of the annual survey where readers of Travel + Leisure cast their votes for the hotels, airlines, car rental companies, destinations, airports, cruise lines and tour operators that represent the ultimate in worldwide travel.
