Moscow is all set to serve as the venue for the Meet Global MICE Congress: BRICS Edition on December 16-17, a premier event in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry. This year’s congress is set to bring together over 129 international delegates from 17 countries, including key BRICS nations, alongside more than 750 industry professionals from Russia.
"The MICE segment is an important driver of the city's economy, one that Moscow pays special attention to. By 2030, we plan to more than double the growth of the tourism sector, including an increase in the number of business guests – from 3.7 million in 2023 to 8 million. And the expansion of international economic ties, primarily with our closest BRICS partners, should play a major role in this," Chairman of the Moscow City Tourism Committee Evgeny Kozlov noted.
Representatives from countries such as Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt will convene to discuss pressing trends and future opportunities in the MICE sector. Over two days, the event will feature 13 business sessions, with insights shared by more than 50 expert speakers from the business world and government agencies.
Key sessions include a plenary discussion titled MICE Industry Through the Eyes of the Government, featuring officials like Dmitry Vakhrukov, Russia's Deputy Minister of Economic Development, and Evgeny Kozlov, Chairman of the Moscow City Tourism Committee. This dialogue will focus on strategies for sustainable growth in the MICE industry.
Industry leaders such as Manuj Ralhan, General Manager of Novotel Jaipur Convention Center, and Gajesh Giridhar, Founder of the Network of Indian MICE Agents, will address global challenges and opportunities for collaboration between governments and businesses.
Moscow, a rising hub for business tourism, plans to double its tourism sector growth by 2030, with a strong focus on MICE development. This congress, following the success of June’s BRICS tourism forum, underscores Moscow's commitment to strengthening international economic ties and fostering innovation within the MICE industry.
